I was so happy to be heading back to NYC after an incredibly long AMA weekend…thank goodness for upgrades and even more thankful to have been sitting next to the incredibly talented and extremely well-respected makeup artist: Scott Barnes. The 5 hour flight felt like nothing, he’s honestly the sweetest person…and I checked out his new book “About Face“. INCREDIBLE!!!

Scott was in town to do J. Lo’s makeup for the awards…amazing as always! She literally looked flawless.

Yes I’m still Gaga obsessed with Bad Romance so I was super excited to see her perform this for the awards…I watched most of the rehearsals but she was amazing night of! Had a few other favs for the night: JayZ/A. Keys and Mary J.

Where NOT to stay: I hardly ever have bad things to say about the hotels I stay in…this is the exception. I will never stay at The Standard Downtown, period the end. The “sparse” decor in the room just looks plain cheap and the “platform bed”? They’re not fooling anyone…that is called a mattress on the upraised portion of the floor. Standard Bed = Backache

Honestly can’t believe the producers of the show actually put talent in “holding rooms” here!

As a sponsor for the AMA Luxury Lounge, we set up for three days backstage at Nokia Theater. Some of the other brands participating along with New Era included: Klipsch, Simmons Jewelry Co., Solstice, Guitar Hero/DJ Hero, and Nokia. Brutally long hours…good talent though! Thankful that Tommy Klipsch and Eric Raine kept me entertained…lol.

Where to eat: So happy that they’re trying to bring some life to downtown LA…snuck off to Katsuya during awards weekend.

What to eat: Baked Hand Crab Rolls…I dream about these! Just don’t understand why I can’t find Soy paper anywhere in New York City - it’s an LA standard! Ok, KOI at The Bryant Park Hotel has them…but it IS originally an LA restaurant!
