In New York City next week? Make sure to pay a visit to Chanel’s East 57th Street flagship store, where on the third floor the luxe French label has set up shop-namely, an exhibit entitled “The Secrets of the Chanel Handbag “designed to reveal the handbag’s je ne sais quoi while highlighting the craftsmanship that goes into making one of their most timeless accessories. As Bag Snobs we all know Mademoiselle Chanel first introduced her now timeless shoulder bag in 1929. From then on, she constantly used this idea until she eventually created the bag commonly known as the “2.55″ (which is in fact its “date of birth”) in February 1955.
The exhibit just launched yesterday in the U.S. and runs through May 16. The exhibit takes people through the construction of the iconic handbag and its fashion evolution over time. Visitors will be able to walk through and interact with a visual presentation featuring handbags from the Parisian archives and of course see the latest versions designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Why not pick up one while you’re there? Now you’ll be able to justify the four-figure price tag!
Jean-Paul Gaultier and Levi’s makes it to the editorial pages of L’Officiel Homme. Presented in the magazine are closer looks at the pieces made for the range. The project consists of denim jackets and jeans, and JPG’s aesthetics as well as Levi’s higher quality denim construction really shines through in the editorial. Select pieces have already hit a few retailers…
I’m really liking the collaborative effort, although I have to admit I’m a sucker for tattoos so the model alone won me over…!!
I blame you for my newest addiction…Modern Family is officially my absolute favorite show…Damn you.
This ABC sitcom described as a comedy “which explores the modern idea of a family” - is a 30 minute shit show which will you have you laughing so hard you’ll be crying. If you can’t tune in on Wednesday nights, please just go to Hulu and watch at least one episode. You won’t be sorry. I recommend “Smoking”, although they’re all hysterical.
Where NOT to stay: I hardly ever have bad things to say about the hotels I stay in…this is the exception. I will never stay at The Standard Downtown, period the end. The “sparse” decor in the room just looks plain cheap and the “platform bed”? They’re not fooling anyone…that is called a mattress on the upraised portion of the floor. Standard Bed = Backache
Honestly can’t believe the producers of the show actually put talent in “holding rooms” here!
As a sponsor for the AMA Luxury Lounge, we set up for three days backstage at Nokia Theater. Some of the other brands participating along with New Era included: Klipsch, Simmons Jewelry Co., Solstice, Guitar Hero/DJ Hero, and Nokia. Brutally long hours…good talent though! Thankful that Tommy Klipsch and Eric Raine kept me entertained…lol.
Where to eat: So happy that they’re trying to bring some life to downtown LA…snuck off to Katsuya during awards weekend.
What to eat: Baked Hand Crab Rolls…I dream about these! Just don’t understand why I can’t find Soy paper anywhere in New York City - it’s an LA standard! Ok, KOI at The Bryant Park Hotel has them…but it IS originally an LA restaurant!
As always over the top…but if this is any indication that her tour will be crazy, can’t wait…love you Gaga.
Carrera had a nice placement…but the hairless cat is just freaky.
