For his Spring/Summer 2010 show, Alexander Wang introduced a football feel to the clothing and sunglasses to his product offerings. Four additional are styles being produced with Linda Farrow (the ultra-chic British eyewear brand that’s done collaborations with uber-hip designers ranging from Yohji Yamamoto and Dries Van Noten to Matthew Williamson and Raf Simons), but i’m loving this zipper-accented model. I already have the collabo with Matthew Williamson, but I may have to pick these up as well!!

Where to go: I can’t rave enough about Ling Skincare…all the girls in the crew swear by this place (ask for HJ at the Union Square location - she’s a miracle worker). I’ve pretty much tried every treatment they have including: Ling’s Signature Facial, the Oxygen Ultrasound, and the Micro Salt-Dermabrasion Facial. Treatments vary in length from 90-120 minutes, so be prepared for some heavy-duty pampering and a pretty hefty time commitment! It’s all worth it - I promise.

The Serum you can’t live without: Celebrities swear by it and estheticians can’t get enough of it. Developed from a former top-secret military formula used to treat burns, Oxygen Plasma (Perfluorodecalin) is a complex carbon molecule that ‘mimics’ the blood’s ability to carry oxygen to the cells. Transporting huge volumes of oxygen to tissues, this multi-tasker accelerates cell production, triggers formation of collagen and elastin, kills acne bacteria, relieves irritation and protects the skin.

Juvenex Spa - 25 W. 32nd St. Manhattan
My friends and I have been going to these types of spas for several years now…Granted it’s not a spa experience like you would have at the Mandarin Oriental or Burke Williams with fluffy robes and cucumber infused water - but nonetheless worth the experience, event if you were to only try it once. Back to the original question: NY (Juvenex Spa) vs. LA (Olympic Spa)??
Keep in mind that these are women-only spas and if you’re shy or self-conscious about walking around naked, you may want to reconsider going. Your “bizness” is definitely out there! The Korean spa is a traditional/ritualistic type of scrub…they basically “scrub” you raw and finish with some type of oil rub down and massage. Packages offer different variations which may or may not include a hair shampoo and/or mini facial of sorts. I’m also aware that none of my Korean friends will touch these spots with a ten foot pole since they had to endure these scrubs as children on a regular basis!
Ambience: NY
Juvenex by far wins for ambience…the photos above are a testament. The facilities are spotless and if you make an appointment during the week, you’ll be able to enjoy the saunas and steam-rooms with practically no one else around.
Service: TIE
Both are comparable in this category. The employees are cordial but not overly accommodating.
Treatment: LA
Olympic Spa wins based on the simple fact that when I leave Juvenex I usually feel as if I was scrubbed so hard that i’m bleeding…while at Olympic, I only felt that three layers of skin was exfoliated versus five!
Value: LA
Again Olympic Spa wins in this category. Juvenex prices run about $160 for a scrub/massage, while Olympic has the same package for $100.
WINNER: Olympic Spa LA
Sidenote - if you’re ever in Las Vegas check out Imperial Spa…the facilities are huge and they offer the same treatment for only $90!

The SECTA Autumn Winter 2010 collection is set up around the theme of the modern sophisticated woman’s lifestyle. Subtle and clean sportswear details are infused into the collection to give a variation of functionality for travel and the ability to transcend each look from day into night. The look is clean, smart, classic and sexy.
The style is simple yet thoroughly thought out silhouettes to make the lines of the woman’s body look lean, designed not loose but comfortable enough to keep room for the skin. Colors are neutral toned and super clean.

Marc Jacobs and Paul Helbers play it conservative and safe with Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2010 Collection for men. Still, the duo has presented a collection fit for any Louis Vuitton man. I personally like the construction of the blazers and some of the knits in the range. If there was a highlight in the collection, it would have to be the bags that came in various styles, patterns, and bold winter appropriate colors.

*Louis Vuitton…the obvious label to hoard…
